About this tool
The UnblockPDF Convert to PDF tool transforms a wide range of file formats into professional PDF documents. Supported input formats include image files such as JPEG, PNG, SVG, and WebP, Microsoft Office documents including Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), and PowerPoint (PPTX), as well as plain text files. The conversion runs on the server side to ensure accurate rendering of complex layouts, embedded fonts, and formatting elements that browser-based processing cannot reliably handle. For image conversions, each image is placed on a properly sized PDF page that matches the original image dimensions. The tool preserves the full resolution and color fidelity of the source image without applying any compression during the conversion step. Multiple images are converted individually, and the results can be combined afterward using the Merge tool. For Office document conversions, the tool maintains the original formatting as closely as possible, including paragraph styles, tables, headers and footers, page breaks, embedded images, charts, and text formatting such as bold, italic, and colored text. Excel spreadsheet conversions preserve column widths, row heights, cell formatting, and print area settings. PowerPoint conversions render each slide as a separate PDF page with transitions and animations removed but visual layout preserved. The resulting PDF files are compatible with all standard PDF readers including Adobe Acrobat, Preview on macOS, and browser-based viewers. Output files conform to the PDF 1.7 specification, ensuring broad compatibility across platforms and devices. Common use cases include converting photographs into PDF format for inclusion in reports, transforming Word documents into non-editable PDFs for distribution, creating PDF versions of spreadsheets for email attachments, and generating printable PDF slides from presentations. The converted output can be further enhanced with UnblockPDF tools such as adding watermarks, page numbers, password protection, or annotations. The tool accepts files up to 50 MB for anonymous users and 100 MB for registered accounts. Conversion typically completes within seconds for standard documents and up to a minute for large or complex files.

Tips for best results
- For multi-image PDF creation, convert each image individually and then combine them using the Merge tool.
- Ensure Word documents use standard fonts for the most accurate conversion, as unusual fonts may be substituted.
- After conversion, use the Protect tool to add password encryption if the PDF contains sensitive content.
- Check the converted PDF page layout carefully, especially for complex Excel spreadsheets with wide column arrangements.
Good to know
Each file is converted individually. Complex Office documents with non-standard fonts or macros may experience minor formatting differences in the output.
