Introduction

UnblockPDF ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and PDF processing services. By accessing or using UnblockPDF, you consent to the practices described in this policy. We encourage you to read this policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions.

What Data We Collect

UnblockPDF is designed with a privacy-first approach. For our browser-based PDF tools (merge, split, compress, convert, edit, etc.), your files are processed entirely within your web browser. No file data is uploaded to our servers for these operations. For features that require server interaction, such as eSignature and Document Approval workflows, we collect and temporarily store: the PDF documents you upload (encrypted at rest using AES-256), email addresses of signers and reviewers, signature images and form field data, and audit trail information (timestamps, IP addresses for verification). We also collect basic usage data including: your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited and features used, and device information for compatibility purposes.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain our PDF processing services, facilitate eSignature and Document Approval workflows, send transactional emails (signature requests, verification codes, approval notifications), improve our services and user experience, detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized use, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your uploaded PDF content for training machine learning models or any purpose other than providing the requested service.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies: Essential cookies are required for the basic functionality of our service, including session management, authentication, and security. These cannot be disabled. Optional analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website, allowing us to improve our services. These are only activated with your explicit consent. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings panel accessible from the footer of our website. Your browser also provides controls to delete or block cookies.

Third-Party Services

We may integrate the following third-party services: Google AdSense for displaying advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. These services may collect anonymized usage data. All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy: Browser-processed files are never stored on our servers. Files uploaded for eSignature workflows are encrypted and automatically deleted 5 days after the workflow is completed or cancelled. Account information is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Server logs containing IP addresses are automatically purged after 30 days.

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data: All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. Documents stored for eSignature and Approval workflows are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. Automatic deletion of processed files ensures minimal data exposure.
